The
Slobodkina Foundation houses over 500 original artworks created by Esphyr Slobodkina throughout her lifetime, from 1920 to 2002.
Highlights include pioneering abstract works from the 1930s and 40s,
preliminary sketches and illustrations for her best-selling
children's books, and unique sculptures assembled from everyday
household materials. Esphyr Slobodkina's art can also be found in
many museums nationwide, including the Ball State University Museum
of Art, Corcoran Art Gallery, Frelinghuysen Morris House and Studio,
Grey Art Gallery, Heckscher Museum of Art, Hillwood Art Museum,
Metropolitan Museum of Art, Naples Museum of Art, Museum of Fine
Arts, Boston, Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, New Britain Museum of
American Art, New Jersey State Museum, Philadelphia Museum of Art,
Smithsonian American Art Museum, Samuel P. Harn Art Museum, Sheldon
Memorial Art Gallery, Toledo Museum of Art, Ulrich Museum of Art,
Whitney Museum of American Art, and the Worcester Art Museum.
