Frequently Asked Questions about
Interactive Performances and Workshops

Where do performances and workshops take place?

Performances may be scheduled at your venue or at Slobodkina House.

What is the best audience size?

The ideal audience size at Slobodkina House is 40. At your venue, we can accommodate audiences both small and large, from 20 to over 1,000 children.

What kind of staging or room is required?

Ann Marie generally works from the front of a room and then moves through the audience. A stage is not required unless the group is extremely large. Free space should be about 10 feet wide by 4 feet deep, but this varies with room type and set up.

Does Ann Marie bring her own props? Does the venue need to provide anything?

Ann Marie brings her own props. We need a 3-prong electrical outlet and a chair. Children should be seated in small groups or rows with some spacing in between to allow Ann Marie to move among them. A room with a blackboard is preferred for the Lyric/Music workshop.

We would like to schedule performances and/or workshops in several localities. How can this be arranged?

We can schedule performances in several different places within a general locale if there is sufficient time for setup, breakdown and travel between performances. This is arranged on an individual basis.

Do the children receive a memento?

For CAPS TALES and STORYTIME PLUS, each child receives a black and white 11 x 14" drawing to take home and color. Workbooks are provided to students in LYRIC/MUSIC WORKSHOPS.

What about children with special needs?

Ann Marie has experience involving all children in her workshops to the best of their abilities. If an entire audience has special needs, she works with the instructor/group leader to address specific concerns.
