Performances held at the Slobodkina
House
Weather permitting, performances take
place on the back lawn. Children sit on the grass, while chairs are
provided for adults. At other times, performances take place in the
first floor studio/reading room. The Slobodkina House Reading Room
will comfortably hold 40 children and 10 adults. Children sit on the
floor unless we are notified about special needs beforehand.
Each booking includes:

An
hour performance with the reading of two stories
-
A
question and answer period
-
Snack
time of cookies, juice, tea, and coffee (children may bring lunch or
a more substantial snack

A
tour of the art gallery (students are broken into groups for a walk
through the upper and lower galleries while they listen to a brief
synopsis of Esphyr Slobodkina’s life and achievements)
There
is no fee.
We do take donations and encourage sales of our merchandise. Hard and soft cover books, musical
book/cassette and CD packages, stuffed monkeys, blankets, T-shirts and
posters are available for sale to our visitors.
